The last event in our annual Fire Festival season is the Delting Up Helly Aa. Held in Brae and the surrounding villages in the North Mainland of Shetland, it's a real community affair.

From galley and torch building throughout the year to events over the weekend, there's something for everyone. There are visits to schools and care homes throughout the day, the main firelit procession in the evening before a night of country dancing and squads travelling between the halls to perform their acts. The next day? It's a full scale celebration again, with another day of Hop revelry before more night time entertainment.
